Pre-op & Chest X-ray

Just a quick update. Jeff had his pre-op appointment and chest x-ray on Tuesday afternoon. We got the final results of the chest x-ray this morning and it was normal. We are so thankful for that. The pre-op appointment went well and he should be good to go unless the COVID test comes back positive a few days before. The seasoned NP was just as certain as the urologist we are looking at cancer. We continue to pray for a miracle that it's benign. She also said he'll be going through extensive genetic testing as well. Jeff has no family history we know of with this but we did have Ezra whose kidneys were also cystic. This isn't to say they were related and could be just a coincidence. We don't know if we will ever know that for sure since he's not with us anymore but Ezra did have genetic testing back when he was with us so there's a chance we may find out the answer to that based on what they do know about him. As far as our other kids needing to get tested we aren't sure yet what that will entail. Right now our hearts are too raw and that thought is too painful to bear at the moment so we'll cross that bridge when we get there.  The NP used a good word for it all-- bizarre. The whole thing is bizarre- how young he is, how large it is for a kidney tumor, and the type of tumor it is.

Thank you all for the continued support, texts, encouragement, and prayers. They are felt and very much appreciated- coming just at the times we need them most.
