Guatemala here we come...
We arrived in Guatemala City around 11 am there time (1pm our time) and found Mayra, our tour guide for the week (a lady Brian became really close with who is a really strong Christian and runs a travel agency along with starting a Christian school). We stopped at a mall to eat and much to our suprise it was very, very modern. However, outside of the city again on our way to Antigua was anything but modern and absolutely gorgeous. We are surrounded by mountains which are covered with the jungle. We also saw a full size horse in the back of a little truck, about the size of a S10, which was interesting to say the least :). Our motel is also gorgeous, and it has continental breakfast and free internet, but since we won´t be able to check our e-mail frequently, we still appreciate mom & dad checking it for us. We are taking an hour break and then off to eat supper. Hope you guys didn´t get blown away by the wind! We will be thinking and praying for Madeline and the rest of the family, doctors, nurses, etc. for tomorrow. Please e-mail us with updates if possible.
The surgery went well!!! It took them 3 hrs to get all her lines in, but that was the only snag. The surgery took about 1hr 45 min. She was off the breathing tube yesterday and they've taken out her chest tubes earlier today. She's eaten 2 doses of pedialite and 2.5 oz of breast milk by bottle today!! Everything's looking good and I even got to hold her earlier today. Keep on praying and we'll keep you updated. I'll send you an email, too. I kept sending you text messages yesterday until I remembered you were out of the country!!
