Busy Week
We have had a very busy, stressful , yet good week. Monday we found out that Jeff did indeed match into orthopedic surgery residency (yay!). Tuesday Mikayla had her second Doctor's visit--again the pediatrician (who we love) said she couldn't believe how alert and strong she was for only being 11 days old and was very happy with her weight at 6lbs 14 oz. We were very happy to hear that we no longer needed to wake her up every two hours to eat...we now can go on her schedule. Thursday was Match Day. We were very pleased to find out that we will be staying in Michigan for the next 5 years! A little disappointed that we will still be so far away from home, but very happy that we will not be leaving all of our amazing friends and Nicole will not be having to look for a new job that will coordinate into Jeff's schedule during this nurse hiring freeze. So now we will be looking for a new home in the next month. Our first friend, and one of our best friends, in Ann Arbor just happens to be a realtor and her husband just happens to inspect homes so we are off to a good start in that department. We feel very blessed with the opportunity to stay here and for Jeff to become an orthopedic surgeon! On the agenda for today (Friday) is an appointment to ultrasound Mikayla's hips and the start of house searching. Finally, one of the more exciting things that happened this week was that Aunt Laura also came to meet Mikayla for the first time! It went by really fast but we had a lot of fun seeing her for a couple of days!
