Rough Night

Yesterday Ezra took some small steps backwards. Over the night he now has required a significant increase in oxygen.  They did a chest x-ray and he has some atelectasis in his right lung but no other changes, praise the Lord. We continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors and for Ezra's little lungs. They gave him another unit of blood yesterday as well since his hemoglobin was drifting down and they could use the same donor as the day before.  They also started him on steroids to try and help develop his lungs a little more. They said it depends on the baby as to how well this works. We would really like him to be able to safely and successfully get transitioned to a conventional ventilator in the near future. They are going to do an echo today to see where his heart function is and to make sure he doesn't have any worsening pulmonary hypertension that they are missing. We are praying that this  isn't the case. On a positive note his blood pressure and heart rate have been better with the albumin.

We are humbled and grateful by the continued support and prayers.

With love,
Jeff & Nicole
