Ezra had a rocky morning after they did their morning care with him.  They had decreased the sedation yesterday so when they did his big turn he was more awake and started fighting the oscillator. Besides the fact that it made him take a leap backwards on the settings we are glad that he is fighting it for future reasons. We have now been able to make headway again and he has recovered more quickly this time then last time it happened so for that we are thankful for. We also talked to the nurse about trying to pre-medicate before they do their cares on him so we can try and prevent this from happening as frequently. We don't believe the peritoneal dialysis catheter is leaking anymore but are keeping a close eye on it and will keep the amount of fluid they dwell in his abdomen down for a few days.  They cultured it yesterday and will do another culture today and tomorrow to make sure there is no infection. The nephrologist that came in to today said because the oscillator jiggles his abdomen around so much it's a lot harder to get it to heal around the drain. So we will keep praying that it doesn't leak and continue to work because if it does that will set us back fairly significantly. He had a low grade temp this morning but think the bed was a little too warm for him.  The blood cultures sent a couple days ago were negative. They had to increase his b/p medication again but since giving him some albumin they have been able to wean it.  His echocardiogram came back normal for his gestational age. We continue to take it one day at a time and feel so grateful for every baby step and each day we are given with him.

With love,
Jeff and Nicole
