Surgery Done

They turned the NICU into an OR for Ezra's surgery since he is too unstable to transfer.  The surgeon came to talk to us in way less time then expected but with a smile on his face. He felt that it went as good as it could've went and now time will tell if it will work. The anesthesiologist then came and said that Ezra tolerated it very well. Lungs were stable and so were his other vital signs with little intervention. All we can say is wow. The power of prayer is amazing. We give all the glory to Him. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of you for your unending support and prayers.  We have a long ways to go and are walking on a tight rope every minute and every hour but yesterday it looked as if there would be no tight rope to even walk on anymore.

Normally you wouldn't use the catheter for another 48 hours but we are in a critical time that our lab values are getting way too high so they are starting dialysis right away. Our next hurdle will be that his lungs continue to be stable and slowly improve over night rather then go backwards again,  that his little body can tolerate the dialysis, and we can stay free of infection.

With love,
Jeff and Nicole
